Hi,
Is there any possibility that an ideal velocity line will be a part of the next Mingle release?
(This is a link to my original post http://community.thoughtworks.com/posts/f65bd3888a rather then adding the same info twice.)

Hi Lisa
Thanks for your feedback. This is a feature request in our backlog and we have logged your request for this. This is not yet planned in a release.
To address why we do not have an ideal line already and why this is not yet planned, I'd like to explain some of our thinking about "ideal lines".
We consider ideal lines to be problematic because we (and no-one else) really knows what ideal is. It could be the same rate every day. Or a peak at the beginning. Or maybe a peak at the end? It could be different every time. To say that one way is ideal and not another is incorrect. We could just plot a straight line (as many people do) but that may never be what a team realistically expects to happen so it's not really showing them anything useful. It may also put unrealistic goals on them to conform to a line that they never expected to follow anyway. It is for these reasons we have not yet added this feature.
Whilst I wanted to share with you our thoughts, I'd also love to understand more about why you'd like this feature. From your frequency of posts I'd say you feel very strongly that this is needed. Can you share why?
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Suzie,
Thanks for your feedback when it comes to "ideal lines".
I'll try to answer – many of our projects use the ideal burn down line as a road regarding how much work that they need to do in order to finish on time.
If days goes by and they've not managed to stay on track a decision have to be made, skip a story/task or alter the finish date. The ideal line is a perfect visual tool for showing if you're staying on track or if you deviate. As it is now, projects uses manually drawn burn down graphs just to be able to visualise their progress.
In my opinion a graph with real progress, the Mingle trend line and the ideal line would be perfect solution.
Also a lot of us know that we seldom live in an ideal world but that doesn't stop us from trying.

Hi,
I've seen another "burn down" post http://community.thoughtworks.com/posts/1796d962c8
that seems to be rather similar to my.
Hope we'll se this in the next Mingle
